Kilimanjaro’s Peaks and Passions!

This legendary peak is the world’s largest free-standing volcanic rise, a tremendous example of the forces of nature. Kilimanjaro, often referred to as a stratovolcano, is comprised of three distinct cones – Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira. Kibo, the tallest and the dormant volcanic formation, houses the mountain’s summit, known as Uhuru, Swahili for ‘freedom.’
